12 Inspirational Wedding Cakes for 2019

2018 has been a busy year at Karen’s cakes! Our couples have inspired us in so many ways resulting in an ever growing range of wedding cake designs to choose from and we are excited about where 2019 will take us!

Semi-naked and buttercreamed cakes are a continuing trend and next year our order book reflects a move towards emulating Megan and Harry’s off-set design wedding cake decorated with large floral displays. Stacked iced round cakes are still top of the charts but there is a definite shift towards square designs and 4 tier and 5 tier statement cakes are becoming more and more popular. Colour is a key factor too with many of our latest designs including a coloured tier or two and statement flowers are often star of the show!

So lets get down to it, here are some of our creations from this year all of which can be seen and ordered on our wesite ……

3 Tier Beautiful Blooms,  don’t you just love these fabulous sugar flower posies!

3 Tier Time After Time, The middle tier is pale silver which complements the large sugar flowers, hydrangea heads, silver/green leaves and diamanté that makeup the cascade decoration on the wedding cake.

You’re Beautiful!  We think this cake is aptly named, the tumbling handmade sugar hydrangea heads and a large sugar briar rose topper and opulent lace have made this wedding cake one of our most popular design and we have made it in lots of different colour combinations. This particular example had the addition of the couples monogram on the top tier.

5 Tier Summer Breeze, this design comes from our showstopper collection. All of  this collection have the top 3 tiers as mock and the bottom 2 tier cake.

3 Tier offset Buttercreamed Wedding Cake with sugar roses, blossoms and succulents, Megan and Harry’s wedding cake was displayed like this and is the hottest new trend for 2019.

3 Tier Old Fashioned  Romance, this vintage look wedding cake has been a surprise winner this year and is set to become one our most popular designs for 2019.

3 Tier Buttercreamed Wedding Cake with sugar roses and forget-me-nots, an elegant buttercreamed wedding cake with sugar roses and forget-me-nots on each tier for couples love the look of a more traditional style iced cake but prefer the taste and texture of buttercream.

4 Tier You’re The One, coloured tiers are another hot trend for 2019, add in the hottest of colours rose gold and we think this design is set to be one of our most loved designs next season. PS. by the way, as with all of our designs, we can do this in lots of different colour combinations, you just have at ask.

3 Tier Best Day Ever, It’s a rose gold tier again but this time is sparkly and combined with a cascade of delicate handmade hydrangea heads.

 

3 Tier Semi-Naked Buttercream Wedding Cake with sugar rose and pretty blossoms, semi-naked with mixed flavour cakes and buttercream coating mixed with pretty sugar posies are a trend that is set to get bigger and bigger. Perfect for those shabby chic weddings.

4 Tier A Thousand Stars, A cascade of sugar flowers with lots of diamanté create a magical and romantic design.

4 Tier From This Moment, Classic, elegant, romantic are all words that can be used to describe this wedding cake.
